Iko (7 years in a K-9 Cart)
Watch Iko's Videos
Mom is very excited about my picture on the K-9 Carts Website. I don't know why she thinks it's so cool, though, because I already know I'm cute and running through the water is
old news for me. But if my picture inspires other people to buy a K-9 Cart for their pet, then I'm glad. Next week is my birthday and soon I'll reach the point at which I've spent
half my life in a K-9 Cart. I sure have a great life and I'd hate to miss out on even a moment of it.
My latest adventure is guarding (and chasing) the 3 chickens in my backyard. Mom won't let them out of their big pen, but when she is not looking the rooster Zorba and I play a game. Zorba
sticks his head outside the pen and I snap at it. Darn, he always pulls his head back just in the nick of time! We both have lots of fun and play the games for hours every day. I make sure
raccoons and squirrels don't bother the chickens, and every once in a while Mom cooks me an egg. It's a pretty sweet deal. I also like watching our new kitten Ranger wrestle with our one-year-old
cat Sadie. They get into some pretty good pretend fights and it's as good as watching pro wrestling!
Thanks again for putting me on your website. I miss you all and hope to visit soon.
Love,
Iko

Daisy
Hello Krys & all at K9 Carts!!
Thank you so much for your wonderful service & prompt delivery (I ordered on Friday & received in Istanbul on Monday-wow!!).
Daisy is slowly getting accustomed to her new cart. She used to whizz around on her old one, the new one is a great improvement on the old but she's only been in it twice yet.
We were in Bulgaria when our new cart arrived & we only got back last night.. I'm sure it'll grow on her in a couple of days, she's walking around very daintily at the moment.
I'm also very happy that its so sturdy- we do so much traveling & they tend to throw them around on flights- you know what your luggage ends up looking like- right..?
Daisy is also rather famous in Turkey, she is a regular on my tv show & gets photographed more than me in airports (I'm jealous- she's getting more publicity than me!!)
People & Paparazzi alike seemed to be fascinated by her prancing about on her wheels in airports. (I've attached some newspaper clippings of her getting acupuncture treatments)
I don't mind explaining to everyone who wants to know what this contraption is, & trust me I get asked, like- a hundred times a day.
A lot of people have pets with disabilities & are at loss at what to do, & sadly many of those who can't believe that such a thing is possible. I'm a willing advocate :))
Thank You Kindly,
Dana Flynn.

Watson
Hi K-9 Carts!
Watson has taken to the cart straight away. He charges after the other dogs,
and even bowls us over if we are in his way. He is running and extremely happy.
This is the first time he has played with his toys since January.
The difference in his attitude is enormous. The vet wants me to bring the cart
to Sydney when he gets his last chemo treatment on thursday, so he can video
him to show other vets and clients.
Thanks again for your excellent service. We will keep in contact and advise
how Watson is progressing.

Cedar
Watch Cedar's Video
Life with Cedar and his cart is unfolding day by day. He loves his
walks and doesn't seem to even know he has the cart. We call him
"All Terrain Dog".
Cedar's always been very enthusiastic about training and working.
Well not always, but ever since we learned positive reinforcement
techniques Cedar and I did obedience, rally, and freestyle. He has
his Draft Dog title from the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America. We
spent many fun days walking in parades and giving kids rides. I
thought that his age and disability had put an end to our days of
working and training.
Now that he's used to his cart he's made it very clear that he
is not interested in stopping. Of course the cart does limit him
some. No more sits and downs, spins, twirls or weaves through my
legs. But he heels, does stays, recalls and still loves to retrieve.
I've been trying to think of new behaviors that will work well with
his cart.
Looks like we're going to have a great opportunity, later this
month when D.I.N.G.O. an international group of dog trainers,
interested in promoting positive reinforcement training, comes to
Sequim. They are coming to train with Terry Ryan, owner of Legacy
Canine Behavior and Training. Terry thinks it would be a wonderful
learning opportunity for the participants to come up with some
behaviors that are fun and appropriate for a dog in a cart. Once they
decide on a few they will practicing with Cedar. I know he'll love
it! As I said he's no where near being a couch potato.
Thank you so much for the wonderful cart and the opportunity to keep
Cedar's life full and fun.

Tiger
"Tiger's Cart was donated to her by K-9 Carts after the Hurricane Katrina Disaster."
Hello Krystle,
I just wanted to get back in touch with you and send you an updated photo of Tiger.
Tiger is doing great with her new wheels. You should see her when she starts speeding. She is so cute.
I would like to share this with you.... There was a clean-up crew outside working hard to clean up what
Hurricane Katrina left behind. I was taking Tiger out for a little fresh air and doing a little reading myself.
I couldn't help but notice, suddenly there was no stumps grinding, no metal scraping the road, no people shouting,
no tractors, nothing. I looked up and all of those men were looking and pointing at my Tiger.
I heard them saying "look, look how cool, that is so cool". They just stared for a while.
Then they went back to work, but I would glance up once in a while and catch one of them looking at her again.
So you see I told you how special Tiger is. Everyone loves her. Anyway, I just thought you might like hearing that.
I hope all is goiing well with you, and again THANK YOU for everything.
Sincerely,
Adryan Tresch

Sunny
Here's my blurb on Sunny:
Sunshine "Sunny" Bunny Littlebear was a male, Mini-Lop rabbit, adopted at the age of ten weeks,
by his "Mama", Barb Bear from a pet store in Surrey BC, March 3, 1997. Sunny was an exceptionally
smart and loving rabbit, who knew on his own, not to "go potty" on the floor, right from the very
first moment he was brought home! This afforded Sunny 100% free-run of the apartment he inhabited
with Barb and spouse, Vince (or, as Sunny knew him...)"Papa!" Barb & Vince enjoyed sharing their
precious little Sunny with others as often as they could, by taking him for walks with his own cat
harness everywhere and travelled extensively with him (Sunny travelled by car as far north as William's
Lake, BC, as far east by airplane as Winnipeg, Manitoba, as far west by car/ferry as Gibson's Landing,
BC and as far south by car as Seattle, WA!) Barb even brought Sunny to work many times
(especially at Easter, of course!) which needlesstosay, was always much appreciated by all!
Sunny enjoyed perfect health until his 7th year, when he became stricken with, what his vet suspected
was a Pasturella bacteria, relatively common (though also sometimes, fatal) in rabbits. T
he infection first manifested itself when Sunny became incontinent, then head-tilt followed.
The head-tilt was successfully treated with aggressive, prescribed medication, but Sunny's health
would still only steadily decline from that point on. From September 2004 onwards, Sunny would also
lose the use of his hind quarters and Barb had a special mobility cart made for him by K9 Carts in
Langley, WA, after first learning they also made carts for rabbits (Sunny's Vet said she did not know
this was possible, either). Unfortunately however, Sunny would only get to enjoy the cart for the afternoon
he was fitted for it, as, the infection continued pushing on, making him just too weak to use the cart at
home after that. Sunny peacefully passed away in his Mama's arms a few days later, August 11, 2005.
Nonetheless, it was clear that Sunny really enjoyed the mobility the cart provided, even if only for
that one precious afternoon. K9 Carts can take great pride in the work they do in making animals'
lives (and their owners) greatly enriched! Keep up the extraordinary work K9 Carts!
We love you and will miss you always, Sunny Bunny!
Mama & Papa!

Winston
Watch Winston's Videos
Hullo all!
We got our Corgi Winston on your wheels about a month ago, and he is really doing well.
His stamina has increased so now it's rollermania at our house.
He's run the cat's tail over, tried to drive over our other Corgi, Joey, in order to get to where he wants to go,
and just this weekend he learned how to lay down. It's so cute with his fuzzbutt up in the air!
When he gets tired, he has some difficulties on the hardwood floors, so we got his some traction boots to help him keep a steady foothold.
That's quite a fashion statement he makes. We also found that we can loop a leash around the strap that goes across his back -
we can pull him along just a bit to help him up hills that are a little too steep to climb on his own. Ta-dah!
It's really been a blessing to us to have his mobility be independent of us.
It has restored a level of normalcy to our household that would have taken a long time to get to with us
carrying his tush around in a sling. Between a modified diet and the increased exercise, he's gotten down to a healthy weight.
His previous owner came to visit, and she was really impressed by how well he was getting around.
He doesn't complain about getting in the wheels, tho sometimes he is so fidgety to getting going that he's moving forward
before we even have his rear legs settled in and the back strap fastened.
Hold on Big Shifter!
